In Africa, the issue of health, and in particular that of lAccess to quality health care is a real dilemma. Most countries on the continent face the same issues : supply deficit, lack of adequate infrastructure, qualified health personnel, adequacy of informatione lorientation, etc. This means that suffering from even a minor ailment can quickly lead to numerous complications. Patients quickly find themselves limited in their environment and in their ability to short of resources.

Several African entrepreneurs are trying to reverse this trend through technology by creating solutions adapted to the African context. Waspito founded by the Cameroonian Jean Lobé Lobé is one of them.

 

Waspito An umpteenth solution healthtech ?

 

In January 2020, in Cameroon, the picture is not very bright. The Covid-19 is causing panic and no information seems to be reliable, especially since everyone is using their own science. Jean Lobé Lobéa former HR manager at British American Tobacco, is launching a start-up called Waspito and creates a solution of the same name.

 

The aim? Facilitating access to health-related services for the Cameroonian people The entrepreneur's ambition is to create what he calls the "health care system". This defines the platform as a social network accessible to all, where it is possible to quickly find a reliable answer to one's health problem.

 

If Waspito is launched in January 2020, the idea was born four years ago earlier in April 2016. A complete stranger to the world of health care, but determined, Jean will for four years for learn, train and surround themselves with professionals so that Waspito can come into being.

The difficulties encountered by Waspito

A partner for an even more ambitious vision

Not limited to Cameroon, Waspito plans to be present in 40 African countries in the next years.
