Common Finance Summit 2022

Building on the positive results of previous editions of the Joint Finance Summit (JFS), in 2022 all public development banks will meet for the third time to strengthen their partnership and consolidate their commitment to joint action on climate change and sustainable development.
The third edition of FICS will take place in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire, on 19-20 October 2022, and will be co-organised by the African Development Bank and the European Investment Bank.
The theme of this year's event will be "A Green and Just Transition for a Sustainable Recovery". It is an opportunity to highlight the key role of development banks in supporting the transformation of economies and financial systems towards sustainability, while addressing the most pressing needs of developing countries and vulnerable groups.
As the health crisis has wiped out decades of economic investment and social progress, it is crucial to integrate green and just transition principles into the investments and operations of all financial actors in order to rebuild a greener and fairer economy.
That is why, say its promoters, the third summit will promote discussions on the importance of financing shared resilience and adaptation, green and quality infrastructure, health and social protection, while supporting a human rights-based approach and tackling inequalities.
