15th session of the Conference of the Parties COP 15 of the UNCCD

The theme of COP15, "Earth. Life. Legacy: From Scarcity to Prosperity", is a call to action to ensure that the earth, the source of life on this planet, continues to benefit present and future generations.
COP15 will bring together leaders from governments, the private sector, civil society and other key actors from around the world to advance the sustainable management of one of our most precious assets: the earth.
The issues of land linkages and other key sustainability issues will be discussed at the high-level segment on 9-10 May 2022, which will include:
- a summit of heads of state,
- high-level round tables;
- interactive dialogue sessions,
- many other special and parallel events.
COP 15 is a key moment in the fight against desertification, land degradation and drought.
The droughtthe land restoration and related supporting factors, such as land rights, gender equality and youth empowermentare among the main items on the conference agenda.
Furthermore, thanks to the decisions adopted by the 197 parties to the UNCCD, COP15 should find sustainable solutions for land restoration and drought resilience, with a focus on preparing for the future of land use.
