As soon as it was launched in 2019, this tool quickly attracted spectacular attention and funding, sparking keen interest in the entrepreneurial community. So what's so special about Konta that it's created such a buzz? The answer lies in its value proposition to its users. Designed as a digital platform, this solution aims to simplify the management of supplier invoices. It enables companies to focus fully on their core business. Konta stands out for its ease of use, even for IT novices, thanks to an entirely digital and intuitive interface. In this Fanaka Story, we introduce you to Konta and MosaicLab, the promising start-up that aims to modernise and simplify invoice management for today's entrepreneurs.

MosaicLab: the foundations of a promising project

The Moroccan 100% solution, which uses artificial intelligence to digitalise the processing of purchase invoices, is the fruit of the expertise accumulated by MosaicLab in the field of innovation consulting. It embodies the culmination of an innovative vision and definite know-how.

It all began in 2016, whenIssam Dahmana graduate in marketing and international trade from the ENCG in Tangiers, decided to put his 15 years' experience in sales management, particularly in the IT sector, to work for companies. With Mehdi Zirarithey co-founded MosaicLaba company specialising in advising major national and international groups. Since then, these two partners have played a central role in the
implementing digital projects, particularly in the financial sector.

Building on their success in working with large companies, the partners identified a new challenge: managing payment deadlines. In response to this need, they plan to design an innovative digital solution that will enable entrepreneurs to simplify the processing of purchase invoices and meet payment deadlines.

To make this vision a reality, they are welcoming to their team El Arbi AboussororHe holds a PhD in critical systems modelling from Toulouse III University, and has 12 years' experience in technical management. Together, they are working to create a solution that combines cutting-edge technology and practicality for entrepreneurs.

At the end of 2018, three years after the launch of MosaicLab, the partners launched Konta. This revolutionary platform based on artificial intelligence, represents a giant step towards simplified and efficient management of purchase invoices, while meeting the pressing needs of entrepreneurs in terms of meeting payment deadlines.

Konta or how to manage your bills without the headaches

After gathering feedback from entrepreneurs and going through a crucial iteration phase, the founders of Konta undertook workshops with their customers to explore this issue in depth. These sessions led to the conclusion that long payment times are not always the result of a deliberate decision on the part of customers, contrary to what is often thought. For them, the solution was obvious: automate the process from invoice receipt to posting.

Konta was then developed and tested in several versions before one of them was chosen because of its ability to respond effectively to the needs of businesses. According to Issam Dahman, the birth of their solution was the result of a collaboration between their start-up and Banque Centrale Populaire.

Today, the price of the annual licence that customers have to pay depends mainly on two criteria: the number of purchase invoices they process and the number of legal entities they manage.

Thanks to their innovation, companies can optimise their supplier invoice management process with a platform that uses artificial intelligence to automate and optimise every stage in the invoice lifecycle. Easy to set up and use, the SaaS software frees you from time-consuming and repetitive tasks, so you can concentrate on the most important tasks.

What's more, thanks to customised accounting and analytical charging rules tailored to its customers' organisation, Konta also generates financial steering and budget management data. This efficiency has earned it a place in the BCP Fintech challenge as best innovative start-up.

A growing reputation and success

In 2021, the founders succeeded in raising 2 million dirhams from the WitaMax investment fund. This funding has enabled them to standardise and internationalise their product, which has attracted numerous SMEs and large companies in Morocco, West Africa and Europe.

Less than two years after this fund-raising, the start-up has obtained new financing of 12 million dirhams, or 1110677.85 euros from Azur Invest, to strengthen its position and offer companies new levers for financial performance.

Today, the solution processes more than 600,000 invoices a year. It has customers in seven countries in Europe and Africa, and aims to develop more functionalities.

Since its launch by Moroccan start-up MosaicLab, Konta has established itself as a key SaaS solution for managing purchase invoices. For the future, the company plans to further enhance its functionalities, while adapting its offerings for medium-sized businesses. With a clear ambition to simplify and optimise the financial management of businesses, Konta is positioning itself as the partner of choice for entrepreneurs seeking success and efficiency in their day-to-day business.
